Rad resources: Planning in chaos
For most nonprofits, rapid change and creative problem-solving are familiar territory. That said, the ground beneath us has been especially wobbly lately, making it even more difficult for organizations to decide what to do next.
Given this, my collaborators and I have been reviewing and testing different frameworks that are designed to support organizational planning during times of upheaval. Here are two resources that have been particularly useful as we dig into these conversations:
The Strategy Triage Tool from StrategyLift provides a process for exploring what’s still relevant, what’s emerging, what should be re-worked, and what needs to be dropped. It's a good tool for deciding whether and where to adjust. Here’s a taste:

The Responding to Threats and Challenges Tool from Collective Impact Forum helps organizations and coalitions review their core values and principles and use them as a foundation for deciding how and where to protect, resist, build, and bridge. Here’s a sample:
